Sell Manchester United?, Former Manchester United defender Garry Neville believes the Glazer family has failed to manage the management of the Red Devils for the last 10 years. Therefore, Neville again asked the Glazer family to sell the club.
The Glazer family held a majority stake in Manchester United in 2005. However, the Red Devils failed to excel after Sir Alex Ferguson retired.
MU last won the Premier League in 2013. After that, the Red Devils looked difficult to compete in the race for the Premier League title.
This season, the Red Devils are in sixth place in the Premier League. Cristiano Ronaldo and colleagues threatened not to finish in the top four.
Gary Neville Urges Glazer Family To Sell Manchester United?
Neville is quite concerned about Manchester United’s recent achievements. Therefore, he asked the Glazer family to sell the Red Devils in order to restore the club’s glory.
“For me, at this moment, the first thing that has to happen is they have to Sell Manchester United?,” Neville said as reported by the Daily Mail.
“Because of the Super League, because of their 10 years of failure without Sir Alex Ferguson, and the team and squad he has, I think they should leave.
Advice for Glazer Families
However, Neville also has suggestions if the Glazer family does not want to leave Old Trafford. One of them is to improve financial governance and allocate funds for long-term club projects.
“But if they really want to stay, because you can never force the Glazers to sell, they have to do four or five things,” he said.
“They have to stop taking dividends from clubs if they want to reset the culture. Because when the owner withdraws money from the club at the expense of the fans, at the expense of the project, at the expense of a successful team, that is a bad message from above.
